The first indisputable fact is that Earth’s temperatures are currently increasing.
It is a fact that methane gas levels in the environment are the highest they have been in recorded history and have increased exponentially since the industrial revolution and the introduction of an petroleum based economy. The concentration of methane in the atmosphere has more than doubled over the past 200 years. Scientists estimate that this increase is responsible for 20 to 30% of climate warming since the Industrial Revolution (which began in 1750).
It is fact that less than 150 years there were no plastics and no fossil fuels, no nuclear energy and the waste associated with it, no supersonic jet aircraft or nuclear powered submarines. Surely, one cannot ague that all of these things have not had an impact on the environment.
It is fact that world population has increased to its greatest level in recorded history.
It is a fact that carbon dioxide levels are at their highest in recorded history.
It is a fact that icebergs are melting and ocean water levels are rising.
It is a fact that 150 years ago almost no waste from energy production existed.
