“The machine above creates oxygen as well as ozone and was developed by Professor Libby and I!”
“I had the privilege to work with Professor Libby. He was a very fair and very serious guy and an advocate for saving the human race.”
“THERE ARE CERTAIN SIMULARITIES OF THE EXPERIMENTAL SYSTEM LIBBY WAS USING TO DEMONSTRATE THE REACTION OF THE EXHAUST GASES FROM AUTOMOBILES RESULTING IN THE DESTRUCTION OF OZONE AND DR. STAMIRES SYSTEM (SHOWN ABOVE RIGHT). WHICH WAS USED TO DEMONSTRATE THE REACTION OF EXHAUST GASES FROM SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT AIRPLANES (SST’S).”

THE RESULTS OF THIS EXPERIMENTAL WORK WAS THEN PROVIDED TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY USED THE DATA IN THEIR DECISION NOT TO ALLOW THE CONCORD SUPERSONIC AIRCRAFT (SST) TO FLY OVER THE UNITED STATES!
Whereas Dr. Stamires worked at D.A.R.L. was kept confidential because it was a government contract and not given to the public. Consequently Dr. Stamires and his co-workers did not receive any official acknowledgement or recognition for their work. While the research group of Crutzen, Molina, and Rowland at California University Irvine published their results and received the Nobel Prize in 1995.

“While onboard the Concord flying from New York to Paris, it happened that I was sitting in the front row and next to me on the window side was the famous and very beautiful British-American actress Elizabeth Taylor (see picture below), we engaged in conversation and I mentioned to her that I was on the jet to attend a scientific meeting, and while talking she asked what kind of work I am doing, and I explained to her about my latest research projects, specifically I mentioned to her that I was trying to eliminate flying supersonic aircraft which fly in the stratosphere and destroy the ozone protective layer contributing to catastrophic climate change. With a violent expression on her face she told me in no uncertain terms, she got up, pointed her finger at me and screamed at me loudly “I love supersonic planes and I hate you!”. Crew members heard the commotion and asked me to move to a different seat far from her as I had upset the legendary Elizabeth Taylor!” Needless to say, my research, results, conclusions, and recommendations proved the incredible amount of destruction supersonic travel and the Concord did to the Ozone Layer and it was not allowed to operate over the United States, increasing Elizabeth Taylor’s flying time over the U.S. for the duration of her life.” To this day, Dr. Stamires is convinced Elizabeth Taylor was not acting on that flight! This story is not meant to diminish her legacy in any way, as she is an icon of humanitarian causes, a great actress, and a champion for human rights.“

“Just as air travel impacts our environment, land travel (automobiles) use the same types of fuels and create the same types of problems”
Yes, carbon-based additives in gasoline can contribute to pollution, depending on their composition and how they are used.
