EL NINOS AND THEIR EFFECT ON CLIMATE

El Nino is extra global warming.  We are seeing a historically extreme weather event this winter which could lead to even more extreme weather events next summer.

Yes, global weather extremes and temperature records typically peak in the year following the development of a strong El Niño event. While El Niño patterns establish themselves in the ocean during the first year, it takes three to five months for that immense ocean heat to transfer to the atmosphere via evaporation and major storms. As a result, the most pronounced global impacts, record-shattering heat, and severe weather anomalies occur as the El Niño peaks in winter and begins to fade into the following calendar year.

Because this is an extreme el Nino, and because El Nino usually cause extreme weather events, we can expect extreme weather throughout the world in 2027.  We won’t even talk about future el Ninos coupled with global warming.  No good news.
